Breeding Plans 2022

We’ve got a good healthy looking batch of females this year, some of which have successfully produced hatchlings! This year we’re hoping for more, and we have been angling to pair only one or two females to a male so the poor boys don’t get worn out!

First off we’re pairing up Sheik and Tomba again this year! They produced a few fun and beautiful hatchlings, but it was Sheik’s first year, so it was a fairly small single clutch. She has grown well and recovered impressively! She seems raring to go! Her boyfriend certainly is!

Mary Ann didn’t prove out for her possible het albino last year, so this year we’re pairing her with one of our newer acquisitions, Rikuo. Hopefully we’ll get some lovely Axanthic hatchlings from these two.

Ginger had an odd, very late double clutch that unfortunately wasn’t fertile, but she bounced back very quickly! while she got a bit overweight when we erroneously thought she was gravid early last year, we’re hoping for some healthy extreme Red Albinos from her and Shippo this year.

Lastly we have Rogue, our beautiful green line Sable. She wasn’t big enough to safely breed last year, but she’s been growing (albeit a little slower than we’d prefer) and she’s doing solidly now. Hopefully we’ll get some more sables pairing her with Battousai, another of our newer additions.

Younger first timers:

Some of our sub-adults are very robust this year, and we’re giving them a chance at pairing up.

First off we have Ahsoka, who is by far the largest of her age group (almost half again as big as the others) Despite being about half the age of Rogue, she’s far surpassed our sable in weight. A fantastic eater. She’s thankfully not shown interest in eating her boyfriend as of yet. Little Stripe Spiegal is a solid little male, and the two of them are some of our prettier sub-adults! We’re hoping their offspring will prove out some or all of Stripes potential hets!

Ahsoka (Red Phase Super Conda Triple-Het Albino, Toffeebelly, Axanthic) and Stripe Spiegal (Anaconda 66% Double-Het Axanthic, Toffeebelly, and 50% Het Albino)

Secondly, we have Benihime, just a month or two younger than Ahsoka, she’s a lovely Red-Line Female we acquired from Cleo’s Kingdom Colubrids, and we’re hoping to prove out her potential het Axanthic this year if breeding is successful. For that purpose, we’re pairing her with our young male Jyuushiro. He’s a bit small. (due in part to an ill-timed hunger strike/brumation on his part) but Benihime has been quite eager, so we’ll see if he’s grown enough to get the job done!

Benihime (Red-Line Anaconda Het Albino, and 50% Het Axanthic) and Jyuushiro (Yeti: Snow-Conda, or Albino Axanthic Anaconda)

Last for now, we have Kirara, who we really did not expect to be anything close to size this year, she was a very reluctant feeder starting off, and had only reached 9 grams after 6 months. (despite a very experienced breeder. Some hognose are just stubborn.) Now though she’s surpassed many of her year mates, and is more than of a size to pair. We’re pairing her with Veldora to start with, as we don’t want to overstress little Jyuushiro, but we will likely switch things around in the future. For now, we’ll find out for sure if she’s low expression Anaconda or not!

Kirara (Possibly Anaconda, Albino Het Axanthic.) and Veldora (ToffeeGlow Conda: Toffeebelly, Albino, Anaconda.)

Potential Breeders:

We have a few more of our Juveniles that might be ready to breed this year as well, but we would be pairing them later in the year and will update if we decide to expand to include them in our plans.
