Mary Ann’s clutch of 16 beautiful eggs have all made it through the incubation (looking fluffy and lovely!) and now they’re hatching! It’s amazing to watch them go from the first pips, to absolute chaos!!
Now Mary Ann was listed as having a 66% chance of being Heterozygous (Het) for Albino. So to prove out that potential one way or another we paired her with our Extreme Red Albino male Shippo. Out of 16 good eggs, there are no visual albinos here, (each egg would have a 50% chance of producing an Albino if she were Het) So we can safely say we didn’t hit the odds on that potential Het. Mary Ann HAS been proven for Het Axanthic though, so we’ll be looking for a lovely Purple-Line Axanthic boyfriend for her. 😉
In the meantime, we have 16 lovely purple/red line babies! all 100% Het Albino, and 50% Het Axanthic! These guys are wonderfully robust! some already weighing 9 grams out of the egg!
