Baby Bin Test Run

At our place, we’ve aquired a Vision Rack for our snakes, and we are very happy with it! (Seriously, my snakes love it.)

that said, the smallest “hatchling” bins on the vision rack are a bit too roomy for agoraphobic neonate Hognose, (Heterodon nasicus) so we’ve been testing a few ways to make the v18 bins more baby friendly. and so far, this is our best iteration.

So this design incorporates a custom cut acrylic divider carefully secured to the center of the bin with fish tank silicon (very safe).
To evenly heat the divided bins, we rerouted a separate heat cable to cover the middle section instead of the back. The vision rack can only accomadate this for two bins worth, as it doesn’t have mid level cord holders all the way across. (these connectors are actually designed for bigger bins coming in length wise.) we had to carefully loop the cable up over the middle, where it sits between the second and third v18 on that side. with back heat halting at about the same area for the rest of the bins.

So far, this seems to be working pretty well! However we’ll keep you updated! ^_^
